Depending on the size and nature of your production, you might want to form a Vermont business organization.  Corporations, and LLCs can provide the benefit of limited liabilty, but require filing with the Vermont Secretary of State.  The Secretary of State tries to make registration of a business organization as easy as possible, but you still might want to obtain legal aid.
