(Rough Cut) Against All Odds-trailer
Here is a rough cut for a documentary I'm currently directing on Status and Dia, the Limbless Rapper.
It follows the story of Doug (Diadem) and Gary (DJ Status), a two man white Hip Hop group from Windsor Locks, CT who's sole purpose is to bring conscious music back to the genre. They call their group H.u.s.hh (Help us save Hip Hop).
Our film will examine their personal struggle with trying to break into the music industry while coping with their very tragic pasts. For Doug it's trying to overcome his anger at his birth mother for giving him up for adoption, obviously because he was born without arm's or legs. For Gary it's trying to cope with the hidden anger he has for the murder of his mother when he was just 12 years old.
We began following them 2 years ago, starting with the firing of their last manager when they decided to go out on their own. Since then the group has had many ups and downs. Right now is an especially crucial time for them as not only the group, but their friendship is at stake.
