As more and more artists use Kickstarter to raise funds for their projects, we at VCAM have been getting a lot of questions about using Kickstarter to fund film and video projects and about using video to help improve other, non-video-related Kickstarter projects.

So we have assembled a panel of experts to talk about the panelists' successful Kickstarter campaigns, discuss some dos and don'ts, and take questions from people interested in using Kickstarter to fund their projects.

What sorts of projects are suitable for Kickstarter?
What makes a successful Kickstarter campaign?
Do I need to make a video for my campaign?
How does it all work?
What sorts of Kickstarter projects should I contribute to?
What are the drawbacks to using Kickstarter?

Panelists include:

Sam Mayfield, filmmaker & video journalist
Sam's documentary, Wisconsin Rising, raised $41,850 in completion funds on Kickstarter
